YITZHAK RABIN (1922-1995)
A military commander who became Prime Minister of Israel,
Yitzhak Rabin heeded the words of Isaiah. He was a pursuer
of peace (rodef shalom) by talking with his enemies
so they might learn to live together.

HENRIETTA SZOLD (1860-1945)
Henrietta Szold was a schoolteacher who, through many acts
of lovingkindness (gemilut hassadim), helped save
thousands of children from the cruelty of the Nazis in World
War II. Working with others, she brought the children to
Eretz Yisrael to rebuild their lives and the Land.

HANNAH SENESH (1921-1944)
A poet and paratrooper, Hannah Senesh lived a life of
creativity and courage (ometz lev). In 1944, while on
a mission to save Jews from the Holocaust, Hannah was
arrested and executed by the Nazis.
