The Technology: Yodio

Yodio is a free web tool you can use to record a narrative over a series of uploaded images. Users simply call 1-877-MY-YODIO to record themselves, then login to yodio.com to illustrate the story with images. This Yodio offers detailed instructions about how to create your own Yodio. Check out this one for a brief audio tutorial and demonstration of an educational Yodio about the Kotel.

In Your Classroom
  • Have students retell a biblical or Talmudic story they have learned using Yodio, then embed it in your OLC classroom.
  • Have students create Yodios on any topic as alternatives to the standard poster or presentation assignments. They can then share their work in your OLC classroom.
  • Use Yodio to create a short podcast for your students, complete with your voice narration and images of class projects and students at work. You can then embed your podcast in your OLC classroom or other class website, or email to students and parents as a weekly recap of classroom learning.
