In our new student journal, Jewish Values in Exodus takes connecting Jewish values and applying them to our relationships a step further, using biblical stories to help students make connections between Jewish values and their role in the larger community.
Through the dramatic stories of the Book of Exodus, students explore Jewish values that can guide us in our lives today.
Your 5th and 6th grade students will be able to enjoy these special features:
- Journal format: Like Jewish Values in Genesis, this student journal features writing prompts, hands-on activities, discussion questions, in a light, accessible design.
- Bible story retellings: Creative, varied retellings of biblical stories encourage students to connect through art, drama, journaling, games, midrash, and more.
- Active questioning: Students are actively encouraged to ask their own questons throughout.
- Project based learning: Students will select, plan and execute a project to improve their classroom, school, synagogue, or local community by applying the values that they studied. They will identify a need in their community, evaluate the resources available, create the project, and implement it. Afterward they will reflect on their experience and what they learned from doing it.
