'It's Too Crowded in Here!' Receives 2011 Sugarman Family Children's Book Award
Rabbi Ilana Grinblat says her book, Blessings and Baby Steps, focuses on what we learn from, rather than teach, our children. In an interview last winter with Washington Jewish Week, she discussed the importance of finding wonder among the joys and struggles of life and parenting. The key concept that Grinblat integrates into her book is that putting adulthood burdens aside, children can provide a unique, spiritual perspective for parents. Grinblat interweaves many of her own experiences and reflections into each chapter, giving readers insight and advice throughout the stages of pregnancy to childhood. Blessings and Baby Steps isn't just a parenting book, it is a guide that allows parents to incorporate a spiritual wisdom into their lives as well as their childrens'.
