Join Jewish Rock Radio in New Music Curriculum
Written by Behrman House Staff, 24 of February, 2014Join singer-songwriter Rick Recht as he shows your teen students how music, media, and technology impact their lives and Jewish identities with the new five-module downloadable curriculum "Jews, Technology, and Rock!".
In this 26-page curriculum teens will be able to:
-
Compare and contrast Jewish, Christian, and secular music while learning how Jewish music can be a part of expressing Jewish identity
-
Articulate how Jewish music is a type of midrash
-
Identify core Jewish principles embedded in Jewish rock music
-
Identify contemporary Jewish musicians and their music
-
Access the media resources on Jewish Rock Radio and identify ways to use Jewish media for entertainment and education
Facilitators need no music skills to implement the curriculum. With "Jews, Technology, and Rock!" facilitators have everything at their fingertips ,including links to music websites, Youtube music videos, and song lyrics. This curriculum also includes ways to use Facebook for posting students' content. It is available now in the Resource Libraries for $24.95.
Curriculum sample pages are available here.
The Curriculum is based on the music and artists in www.jewishrockradio.com, the first high-caliber, 24/7, Jewish rock internet radio station.
