New Picture Books are Coming to Behrman House and You Can be the First to Preview Them
They're coming! Six new picture books are on their way to Behrman House for their Fall 2015 debut, but YOU can preview them before everyone else when you sign up for Golem Express.
Children's Literature in Class: Why It's Important
Books do more than entertain children in between lessons; good books help children consider complexities in life and how they can compare it to their own.

Behrman House and Jerusalem-based Gefen Publishing have come together to introduce the new Apples & Honey Press!

Apples & Honey Press creates memorable stories for children that illuminate the values of family, community, having fun, and being the best we can be. 

We're working with a variety of authors and artists, including David Adler (author of the Cam Jansen series), Sylvia Rouss (author of the Sammy the Spider series) and puppeteer-ventriloquist Karen Rostoker-Gruber. 

Our introductory list, to be released in Fall 2015, features:

  • a mischievous puppy helps prepare for Shabbat
  • the adventures of an Israeli-based ambulance
  • a heartwarming Hanukkah story that focuses on tzedakah
  • King David and the spider who saved his life
  • a humorous party hosted by animals for a reluctant guest
  • an answer to the question: were there bugs on Noah's ark?

We will be introducing two new lists each year, spring and fall, with 4-6 titles each.
