Hot Topics: Is the Final Four Fair?
Written by Behrman House Staff, 19 of February, 2016The latest Hot Topics wants to know, should the NCAA pay its athletes?
While the NCAA and TV networks make billions off of the Final Four college basketball tournament, the players themselves do not make any money for their efforts. In this lesson, students learn about the Jewish view on employment rights, and negotiate and draw up contracts for college basketball players based on these rights.
Engage your student this March Madness with these objectives:
- Students will study Jewish texts about employer-employee relations.
- Students will practice negotiation/compromise skills.
- Students will write an employment contract.
Hot Topics: Is the Final Four Fair? will be available for purchase beginning March 1st in our Resource Libraries.
Each Hot Topics edition includes an article, a lesson plan for a 50-minute class, and a glossary of terms. A new topic will be available every month for $3.99.
