Help Congregants Get Ready for a Fearless Aliyah
Written by Vicki Weber, RJE, 10 of August, 2011 ITorah Blessings is a tutor on the go for congregants and b'nai mitzvah familiesThe High Holidays are late this year: Erev Rosh Hashanah is Wednesday, September 28. That leaves plenty of time for congregants to prepare for the honor of being called to the Torah. You can help them by telling them about iTorah Blessings.
iTorah Blessings, the latest app from Behrman House, is designed to help make anyone comfortable inside the synagogue. Developed for iPhone and iPad, iTorahBlessings teaches the blessings for being called for an aliyah. Touch-and-Read technology plays each word individually as it is touched, simplifying learning, while the auto-record feature lets anyone hear themselves practice. iTorah Blessings also includes video demonstrations that explain an aliyah step by step, shows how the Torah is decorated, and even provides traditional instructions for putting on a tallit.
Whether you want to help congregants brush up before the holidays, or you are helping families get ready for an important life cycle event, iTorah Blessings can be a tutor on the go. You can find out more about iTorah Blessings here. Check out all our apps--we have them for Hanukkah, Passover, Purim, Shabbat, and just for fun. Families can learn the Sh'ma, too (it's free). Find out more.
