Engage Students and Congregants Around Prayer with Visual Tefillah
Written by Behrman House Staff, 31 of October, 2013Help regular congregants and new members alike explore the meaning of prayers with Visual Tefillah, a series of beautiful and thought-provoking PowerPoint slideshows with prayers broken down line-by-line in Hebrew and English alongside dramatic photographs illustrating the meaning/intention of the words. Each presentation also includes materials to enhance your services and start conversations: background information about the prayer, an embedded YouTube video or audio of the prayer being recited/sung, thought questions about the prayer and its meaning, and experiential digital activities related to the message of the prayer.
Visual Tefillah offers many opportunities for creative lessons, services, and activities. Use a projector to display the attractive graphics with follow-along Hebrew in regular worship services. Print out or email the presentations to adult students to introduce prayers and initiate dialogue. Designed to match the prayers in two of our popular Hebrew series, Hineni and Kol Yisrael, Visual Tefillah is also a great tool to supplement a regular prayer Hebrew curriculum.
Visual Tefillah is now available through the Behrman House Resource Libraries—just type "Visual Tefillah" in the search bar. There are 15 more Visual Tefillah slide shows coming in time for the new school year!
