Matzah Munch Recipe

Matzah Munch is just as tasty whether served cold, lukewarm or hot out of the oven. It's perfect to share with family and friends during the holiday. This sweet-tasting Pesach side dish is so delicious that it's good enough to eat year-round!

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil for greasing pan
  • 3 matzot
  • 3/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/3 cup honey

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. Break up the matzah.
  3. Soak it in water in a medium-size bowl for a few minutes until it gets soft, then drain off the water.
  4. Add the raisins and salt to the matzah.
  5. Beat the eggs slightly in a separate bowl and add them to the matzah mixture. Mix well.
  6. Peel and core the apple. Dice it coarsely into 1/4- to 1/2-inch cubes and add it to the matzah mixture.
  7. Add the nuts, oil, and honey to the matzah mixture. Mix well.
  8. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 40 - 45 minutes.
  9. Take it out of the pan and cover it tightly with foil. It will be hot, so ask an adult to help. Serves 4-5.
