Matzah Munch is just as tasty whether served cold, lukewarm or hot out of the oven. It's perfect to share with family and friends during the holiday. This sweet-tasting Pesach side dish is so delicious that it's good enough to eat year-round!
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil for greasing pan
- 3 matzot
- 3/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 apple
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/3 cup honey
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
- Break up the matzah.
- Soak it in water in a medium-size bowl for a few minutes until it gets soft, then drain off the water.
- Add the raisins and salt to the matzah.
- Beat the eggs slightly in a separate bowl and add them to the matzah mixture. Mix well.
- Peel and core the apple. Dice it coarsely into 1/4- to 1/2-inch cubes and add it to the matzah mixture.
- Add the nuts, oil, and honey to the matzah mixture. Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 40 - 45 minutes.
- Take it out of the pan and cover it tightly with foil. It will be hot, so ask an adult to help. Serves 4-5.
