Here's a helpful hint for students using Alef Bet Quest...

When a student completes a lesson, they will be shown their score on a summary screen. When they are done with the summary screen, they need to go back to the main menu and their scores will be saved. It seems some people are not sure how to get to the main menu though. All they need to do is click on the image of the plate in the lower right corner of the screen. After doing that, they will now see a large image of the plate and they should see the next lesson unlocked on the plate, from here they can quit the program properly by clicking on the X in the upper right corner of the screen. It will confirm that the user really wants to quit, they can click YES and they will properly shut down the program and all their progress should be saved.
I have heard that some kids/parents have been completing a lesson and then trying to quit the program right from the lesson summary score screen, but since there is no X on that screen which allows them to quit the program, they press the Ctrl-Alt-Delete keys on the keyboard and improperly shut down the program, which will not save their progress properly.
Following these steps should assure that all the students progress is saved properly and they do not have to redo lessons!
