How do I add a teacher?
Posted by RSchoolTCP on September 30, 2012 at 12:04 pmHi, we are using the internet version, and I have added the students, but it hasn't allowed me to add a teacher. I am the school principal, and I would like the teacher of the class to be able to update. Thanks.
Alef Bet Quest System Requirements
Posted by dddkkk331 on July 05, 2012 at 10:34 pmI would really like to use Alef Bet Quest with my beginning Hebrew class this fall, but I have an older MAC computer running Mac OSX 10.4 with no intel chip. :-( Many of my students may also have older computers, a few may even need to use the New York Public Library computers. Is there any way around this problem? I had no problem playing your demo games or using your demo lesson... Is it possible to use the program on your website, with or without the ability to keep track of progress? DK in NEW YORK CITY
Aleph Bet Quest problem
Posted by RSL95MOM on February 22, 2012 at 10:17 amOne of my student's has complained that the CD wants her to start over, and none of her lessons are showing anymore in the assessments. It looks as though a few other students have also been "reset" somehow. Our code is DAT3456. -- Mrs. Levine, Temple Shir Shalom Oviedo 3rd Grade.
Aleph Bet Quest problem
Posted by dschwarz on March 01, 2012 at 01:01 pmIt seems to me that this student might have elected to use the "work offline" feature on the CD which does not save work. If she logs in and completes a lesson, she should be able to continue where she left off. If you'd like to be in touch directly, simply email us at customersupport@behrmanhouse.com.
Shalom Uvrachah - Mac Compatibility
Posted by Sarah Thomas on November 23, 2011 at 09:06 pmThe Shalom Uvrachah CD does not seem to be compatible with the latest version of Mac - OSX Lion. Is there a fix to make the CD compatible?
Shalom Uvrachah - Mac Compatibility
Posted by david.schwarz on December 01, 2011 at 11:02 amUnfortunately it is not compatible with OSX Lion. You might want to consider using Alef Bet Quest which covers the same level of Hebrew.

Details to help with re-booted Alef Bet Quest
Posted by VickiWeber on October 12, 2011 at 02:09 pm• Anyone who was having difficulty logging into Alef Bet Quest during the past two weeks should be able to do so starting immediately.
• If you or your students have created a new user name between Sunday, October 9 and Tuesday evening, October 11, the user name may not have saved properly, and you may need to recreate it.
• If you or your teachers find that there are students missing from your class list who were there before the re-boot, please contact us and we can fix that.
• If students have been using the software online in the last 48 hours (between 2 pm Monday, October 10 and 2 pm Wednesday, October 12), this most recent progress may not have been saved on our database. They may have to repeat this lesson or lessons.
• If students have been working offline, their work has not been saved. Those lessons will need to be repeated when working online again in order to progress through the material.
Update on Alef Bet Quest, 10-11-2011
Posted by VickiWeber on October 11, 2011 at 11:17 pmWe have moved Alef Bet Quest and its database to a new, faster, and more powerful server. The change in the server’s address could take from three to 72 hours to roll out to all internet service providers.
For many of you, this has already taken effect. For others, as soon as your specific service provider registers this new address information, you will notice a big change in the speed for logging in, registering user names, syncing lessons, and accessing assessment pages in Alef Bet Quest.
Anyone who was having difficulty creating a new user name during the past two weeks should be able to create those user names starting Friday, 10-14-2011. Be sure to have your classroom serial number handy when creating new user names.
If you or your students have created a new user name within the past 48 hours, the user name may not have saved properly, and you will need to recreate it.
Also if a student has been using the software online in the last 48 hours, this most recent progress may not have been saved on our database. Please click the "Sync" button in the software to be sure the database updates your progress.
If students have been working offline, that work has not been saved. Those lessons will need to be repeated when working online again in order to progress through the material.
Update on ABQ Problems 10/5/11
Posted by david.schwarz on October 05, 2011 at 01:48 pmWe want to assure you that we continue to work closely with our service provider to increase the capacity of the servers that host our Alef Bet Quest and Kol Yisrael digital applications so that these materials work as they should for you.
The popularity of the materials, coupled with the larger number of teachers and students trying to access the site at the same time during the very beginning days of the school year, has been more than the existing hardware could manage effectively.
Right now we are working to move Alef Bet Quest to a new server, and to test it. This has taken much longer than we or the service provider anticipated. We apologize for the temporary shutdown of the site earlier in the week, for any slowness you may experience right now, and for any difficulty you may be having in getting logged in to the site as we solve these technical challenges. We know this has come at a crucial time in the school year. Our goal is to rectify the situation and make the site better as quickly as possible.
We will provide you with further updates as we have them, and we thank you for your continued patience.
ABQ problems
Posted by smz5686 on September 23, 2011 at 11:20 amMy students are still unable to log into Alef Bet Quest. They can not get past the retrieving progress screen. Can you tell us when this issue will be rectified? I use the software as the basis of my curriculum so we really need it working ASAP. Thank you!
Also, I directed many of them to download the ABQ software onto their hard drive but it automatically downloads a version for PCs and most of our families are Mac users. Please advise.
ABQ problems
Posted by david.schwarz on October 06, 2011 at 03:18 pmHi smz5686,
As we are working diligently to get ABQ but up and running, your Mac users can download the software directly to their computer. All they need to do is open the files on their CD and drag the folder titled "ABQ Mac" onto their desktop. After the folder is copied onto their computer, it will automatically be installed.
This will do the trick!
ABQ problems
Posted by david.schwarz on September 27, 2011 at 01:47 pmWe apologize for this inconvenience and are working diligently to rectify this issue. We will update this page as soon as this has been resolved. In the meantime, you can always click on the "work offline" button on the login page to access the CD. This will give your students an opportunity to go through the lesson without the need to sign online.
Alef Bet Quest freezing or slow to load
Posted by VickiWeber on September 20, 2011 at 10:50 amDue to the very high volume of students and teachers getting started with Alef Bet Quest at this time of year, you may experience some delay in loading or creating your user name for Alef Bet Quest. It may even freeze. We are resetting the site often, and working on additional options to make this site work faster and better for you. You may wish to wait a little while and try again. We apologize for this delay and are working on improvements.
Alef Bet Quest freezing or slow to load
Posted by VickiWeber on September 20, 2011 at 05:36 pmWe are adding capacity to the Alef Bet site to help make it work more quickly. It should take effect on 9/21/2011. Thank you for your patience! So many people are using the site, which slowed things down; this should help a lot.
Alef Bet Quest freezing or slow to load
Posted by david.schwarz on September 27, 2011 at 01:48 pmWe are still working on adding capacity to the site and will update this page as soon as it is completed.
Alef Bet Quest freezing or slow to load
Posted by VickiWeber on September 20, 2011 at 11:16 amAlef Bet Quest works best and fastest if you COPY the software from the CD directly onto the hard drive of your computer and save it.
