Students are also challenged to think deeply about the meaning of the prayers ("Av Harahamim tells us that we put our trust in God. Think of somebody you trust and describe the character traits which make that person trustworthy") and the prayers' connection to ancient sources and sacred text ("Read each biblical verse below and circle the phrase that appears in the Ein Kamocha prayer").
Hineni 3 also deepens students' understanding of the Jewish values underlying the prayers. The "Ethical Echo" feature teaches a mitzvah concept (For the Haftarah blessings: "Psalm 15 teaches us that telling the truthemetis so important that only those who 'speak truth in their hearts and have no slander on their tongues' will 'live in God's house'"), and the follow-up "Think About This!" asks students to make their own meaning from the value ("In addition to being truthful to others, why do we need to be truthful to ourselves?").
Special feature: Includes a chart with the prayers in the Shabbat morning service to help students understand its structure and to graphically illustrate just how much they have accomplished in their Hebrew studies.
