How can people put an end to the cruelty of war? The injustice of poverty? The evil of starvation?

people as well as the bombing of homes and towns. We can work to prevent such cruelty because people have free will. We can choose to do what is good by working to end the evil acts of others.

In every generation, people have asked why God permits the pain caused by disease and natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods. No one, not even the greatest sage, has been able to answer such questions. The truth is, we simply don't know. But even if we never understand, we are not helpless. For instance, how could you and your classmates help victims of a flood? Could you raise money or run a clothing drive?
