[Jenny practiced reciting the 4 Questions for weeks
before the Passover seder....]

THE FOUR QUESTIONS
Now it is time for the Four Questions. They are traditionally asked by the youngest child able to ask them. Sometimes they are chanted by all the children together.

Why are the Four Questions so important? Because by asking about the different parts of the seder, we are really asking "What is the reason for this Passover holiday?" And the answer is that if God hadn't brought us out of Egypt, we would still be slaves. It is not just our ancestors who were set free. We too were set free!

And so--as the leader says in answer to the Four Questions--even if we all were wise and had studied the Torah, we would still need to tell the story of the Exodus. That is what we are doing on this night.

 [THE FOUR QUESTIONS[

Here are the Four Questions.

How different this night is from all other nights!
On all other nights, we eat either bread or matzah, why tonight only matzah?

On all other nights, we eat all kinds of vegetables; why tonight bitter herbs?

On all other nights, we do not dip our vegetables at all; why tonight do we dip them twice?

On all other nights, we eat either sitting up or reclining (leaning back); why tonight do we all recline?
