SMART Boards

More and more, schools are investing in SMART Boards for use in the classroom. SMART Boards use the technology that is found in a computer and make it accessible for the entire class. A projector is used to display a computer’s video output on the interactive whiteboard, which then acts as a large touch screen.

Since SMART Boards are becoming more common in schools, there is an increasing amount of free resources available to help you in your lesson planning. I found this template which will allow you to create your own Jeopardy game to play with your class. Just pick the topic you want to teach about, develop some questions for your students to answer, and you are ready for a fun and educational classroom activity.

Legacy Heritage has created a database of Jewish user-submitted lesson plans to use with SMART Boards. Their database is called SJED (SMART Board Jewish Educational Database), and offers lesson plans in Hebrew and Judaica. It is sorted by grade and even has peer ratings (so you can easily find great lesson plans).

Where do you find lessons for your SMART Board? Tell me where you find your lessons and I’ll share it with your colleagues on a future blog.
